Whale Watching with bus transfer from Tromsø

Whale Watching on a historical boat, including comfortable bus transfer from Tromsø to Skjervøy (both ways). If you want to go on a 3 hours whale-watching adventure and observe an authentic natural feast among orcas and humpback whales, join us on this amazing tour!

- Best offer for people who easily get seasick (reduced sailing time, as the transport between Tromsø and Skjervøy, is done by bus);
- 3 hours of whale watching (we start in the fjord where the whales have been spotted this year);
- Warm cosy lounge inside to relax and warm up, including warm lunch;
- Unique vessel and possibility to meet the crew (even joining the Captain on the bridge);
- Possibility to sleep a bit more on the bus in the early morning.

Departing from Tromsø by bus (a red bus, with SKJERVØY - WHALE ROUTE inscription on it, will be waiting for you, at Port 8, parked nearby Scandic Ishavshotel, Tromsø), by early morning (05:30 am – a breakfast-wrap is included), to the fisher village of Skjervøy, you will experience the stunning landscapes of the Lyngen Alps on your way there and then embark on an authentic Norwegian boat in Skjervøy (around 09:45 am), to meet the world’s largest mammals: humpback whales, orcas/ killer whales, harbor porpoise and others.

An experienced whale guide onboard will welcome you and explain all about the whales and their behavior and help you find them along the journey.

This is an excellent and recommended option for guests who easily get seasickness, as the amount of time onboard is diminished since guests are transported into and back the whale area by bus, and they won’t experience the open sea, with a lot of waves.

From late October to late January each year, a big amount of herring can be found around the coast of Troms, in the Skjervøy area. This is the perfect location for humpback whales, killer whales (orcas), and other species, to come to visit and feed on the area, making it the perfect location to whale watch. This whale watching will last for 3 hours, with lunch included (vegetarian option available on request) onboard.

You will be back on land at Skjervøy at 13:00 to take the bus back to Tromsø, where you will arrive at 17:40.

About the boat – MS Tromsø

MS Tromsø is an old passenger and cargo boat, refurbished to an overnight adventure boat, with 15 sleeping cabins (you can have a look at the cabins). The cabins are named after the islands surrounding Tromsø in the north area. Enjoy lunch in our cosy eating area, formerly the car deck and cargo area. Step back into the past via this unique possibility to join this 28-meter boat on a sailing trip, looking for whales in Northern Norway.

NOTE:The general access and moving around on the boat can be challenging to people with physical restrictions, due to steep boat stairs. Ask our guide in need of assistance.
