Whale Watching with Boat Overnight & Northern Lights

Take part in the ultimate Whale & Northern Light Adventure on the top of the world. Join us for a two-day wilderness adventure to explore and experience the biggest encounter of whales in the world. Pods of killer whales and more recently, a high number of humpback whales have joined in for an annual hunt on herring in the waters around Skjervøy, in Northern Norway.
- Unique overnight seekers in full nature
- Culture and local history lovers, combined with nature fascination
- People vulnerable to seasickness (avoid the waviest part of the trip – open sea – by going by bus from Tromsø to Skjervøy)

The fjords and landscape during the wintertime, with roughed high peak mountains powdered with snow and the polar light at this time of the year, is an experience of a lifetime. In the evening, discover the mysterious landscape, illuminated by the northern lights.

Together with an experienced guide onboard our traditional vessel full of local history – we welcome you to be part of our world: a truly Norwegian adventure, a life of love and respect for the Arctic Ocean and all its inhabitants.

During the wintertime from late October to late January, the herring can be found in large concentrations inside the fjords of Northern Norway and the orcas (killer whales) and humpback whales arrive for their feeding frenzy. Skjervøy, north of Tromsø, is a unique area where whales and herring create a mind-blowing event every year and is part of the Arctic Circle of life, for you to experience.

The boat: You will embark and overnight onboard M/S Tromsø, an authentic Norwegian vessel from late 1950, now restored to her original interior design. The ship is upgraded to host 19 overnight passengers with modern comfortable accommodations, still within the look and feel of her true heritage.

Enjoy a nice buffet during our northern light dinner cruise, possibly added with a ‘catch of the day’, a late-night drink in Sailormen’s bar onboard, and be tucked to sleep at the quay for a cosy night.
