Walking in the Lyngen Alps
We set off from Tromsø by bus driving through a varied and picturesque landscape of mountains, fjords and valleys before catching the scenic ferry ride (20 minutes) to Svensby.
In Svensby, the guides wait to take you on a walk following the small gravel road or in easy terrain always with a magnificent view towards the Lyngen Alps (weather dependent). The guides will adapt the tour according to the fitness level of the guests. After about 1.5 kilometre we stop to make a fire and have a hot to drink, before carrying on to where the landscape widens, and we get the best view of peaks reaching a height of up to 1500 metres above sea level. During the walk we stop to take photos and enjoy the fascinating surroundings.
Keep an eye out for the “King of the forest”, the moose, which is often seen in this area. We will spend about 2.5 hours outside in the nature and clean air and cover 5-6 kilometres. The distance can be reduced or extended to fit the wishes and fitness level of our guests. Please also note that the guides often bring some playful dogs along for company and fun.
Back at the camp we will serve you a freshly made fish soup (a vegetarian option is available on request when booking) with locally baked bread followed by tea/coffee and biscuits. Beverages, including beer and wine, for sale.
