How much do you know about Sami people, the indigenous people of northern Scandinavia, mostly known in Tromsø for reindeer herding?
Present in regions from Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia, they are represented with their own languages, own flag, traditions and customs, and, due to many different reasons (political, environmental and cultural), are the only ones permitted to reindeer herd in several regions of the Nordic countries (such as Norway).
We suggest you dive into the traditions, stories and way of living of the Sami, learn about their traditions, stories, and way of life. Feed and pet their reindeers (and even go on a reindeer sledging experience) and hear them chanting Joik, a Sami singing style! This adventure will open your view of the world and fill your backpack with new stories and experiences.
